The population of Portsmouth has grown by 5% in the past decade, with a significant increase in families with young children.

We hope to build our infrastructure through this fund and create a resource for the Portsmouth and surrounding Brighton Community.

How We Plan To Do It

01.

Before embarking on the Prince of Peace Church 360 Campaign, we conducted a comprehensive feasibility study to assess the viability of our goals and ensure responsible stewardship of your contributions.

This study involved:

  • Market research: Understanding community needs and support for our vision.

  • Financial analysis: Projecting fundraising potential and campaign costs.

  • Stakeholder engagement: Gathering feedback from church members, community leaders, and potential donors.

The results of this study provided valuable insights and confirmed the strong community support and financial feasibility of the campaign.

Our Impact: Transforming Lives, Building Community

At Prince of Peace Church, we believe in the power of faith to not only inspire hope but also create tangible change in the lives of individuals and families. We are committed to serving our community through various initiatives that foster growth, connection, and support.

What We've Done:

Empowering Youth

We've provided over 150 youth in our community with the opportunity to attend Christian Camp Courageous, our annual camp offering a unique blend of arts, technology, and travel experiences. This program allows young people who might not otherwise have the chance to explore their creativity, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships in a safe and nurturing environment.

Nourishing Our Community

The Bishop Samuel L. Mackey Community Garden, a vibrant initiative led by our church, has yielded over 1,500 servings of fresh vegetables for the people of Portsmouth. This program not only provides access to healthy and affordable produce but also fosters a sense of community engagement and environmental responsibility.

Expanding Horizons

Offering a Helping Hand

We recently organized a life-changing trip to Washington D.C. for 50 youth and 20 volunteers from our community. This fully-funded experience allowed participants to explore the nation's capital, visit historical landmarks like the National African American Museum of History and Culture, and broaden their perspectives through cultural immersion.

Recognizing the challenges faced by many families during the pandemic, we distributed 15 Thanksgiving meal vouchers to individuals impacted by COVID-19. This small act of kindness aimed to alleviate food insecurity and ensure that families could celebrate the holiday with dignity and joy

This funding will allow the Prince of Peace Church to provide resources need for the Brighton Community and even greater Portsmouth, Va.

We have to help our community.
